Yesterday I went to your fathers' birthday dinner and had a good time. I was happy to see everyone laughing and having a good time. I know you was there glistening with them because that is the most laughter I've seen from your parents since the last time I visited them. Your dad didn't want to tell us his age and kept everyone buggin'. I didn't realize that your parents were funny like that. I know that you kept them going and you continue to do so now. I feel like every memory we have of you is a treasure to keep you close to us and in our hearts. I was glad that I could make it to share the moment with them. A LETTER FOR BIRD / Shellena Whitfield Hey Bird , In the past months, I had to end up having surgery on my hand which made it hard on me. Through my recovery, I had to attend my classes the best way I could. At this time, I am doing a lot better than I was then, but I don't have my full strength back. I know that you are proud of me for holding on and continuing my education to strive for success. But there are some other things that happened but I rather not alk about it because I know that you know about it. I've had some dreams about you that I wish were real. Sometimes I feel as if I am living in a dream, but I know that I'm not. Here lately when memories that we shared come in my mind brought tears to my eyes. At times when I cry, it would be like the time when I recieve the bads news that time. Things like that comes to my mind a lot. I remember it like it was yesterday and sometimes the thought makes me cry more and more. I haven't visited you lately, but everytime I do the day of the funeral comes to my mind and I remember the entire time I cried. Even that night before I cried myself to sleep. A lot of times now I cry myself to sleep and I never really talked about it to anybody. I feel like I'm not as happy as I used to be when I was with you. Just to know that you cared about me made me feel good. I didn't need no material things from you to express how much you loved and cared about me. I always stay in touch with your mom, dad, and grandma, checking on how they are doing. I know that they have their times but they also try to stay strong for you. As long as we know that you are there for us and we feel your presence, we know that you are safe in GODS HANDS and you are ok. I LOVE YOU ALWAYS and YOU ARE IN MY HEART. LOVE SHELLENA W.
